Barcelona Reject Al Hilal Bid as Casadó Future Stalls
Barcelona have rejected an opening offer from Al Hilal for midfielder Marc Casadó and set a firm asking price, with the Saudi Pro League side so far unwilling to meet the Catalans’ valuation. As Mundo Deportivo reported, Barça turned down the first bid back in July and talks between the clubs remain some way from a resolution.
The sticking point is money. Barcelona want more than €30 million for the 22-year-old academy graduate and are pushing to get close to €40m, a figure Al Hilal are not prepared to reach for now. On a personal level the picture is warmer: Casadó and the Saudi club are said to have a good understanding, though any agreement still hinges on the two clubs narrowing that gap.
Where the Al Hilal talks stand
For now, Al Hilal’s proposal remains the most concrete on the table. The homegrown midfielder is also being tracked in Serie A, the Bundesliga and the Premier League — interest the academy product is said to view favourably — but none of those clubs has firmed up a formal offer. Any sale would hand Barcelona another useful boost as they balance the books this summer.
With the window open until 31 August, the ball sits with Al Hilal to move closer to Barça’s number. Until then, Casadó’s future stays unresolved.
